Admissions

If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of the admission arrangements in the policies below.

Thorpe Acre Junior School is a co-educational school and is administered by the Local Authority (LA), County Hall, Glenfield, Leicester, LE3 8RF.  It is necessary for the parents of all children applying for admission to apply to the LA as a mid-term applicant, irrespective of whether they live within our catchment area or not.  Applications must be made electronically following the link to LCC below.  The LA is the admitting authority and makes decisions about which children are admitted to Thorpe Acre Junior School based on set criteria which can be found via 'School policies' under the Education link www.leicestershire.gov.uk.

Our planned admission number for the mainstream school is 200.

The planned admission number for our Communications & Interaction Resource Base is 10 and places are allocated through SENA at the Local Authority.

Please note:

  • We are a junior school, therefore can only admit pupils in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
  • Pupils attending Thorpe Acre Infant School will not automatically transfer into Year 3.  Parents must make a separate application for a placement using the link above.
  • Offered places must be taken up within 20 school days.
