Science is a popular subject at TAJ. Children are actively encouraged to be independent learners through a range of experiments and investigations. Each year the children compete against other schools in the 3M Young Innovators Challenge and have in the past won the "Super Foods" challenge. Being able to give a presentation to a panel of judges at 3M provides pupils with an opportunity to speak in front of others about their work and learning. The school is currently working towards achieving the Primary School Quality Mark (PSQM) Silver award for Science. This is assisting in embedding a love of Science in to the curriculum and in supporting a range of other projects such as Eco club and Big Cook Little Cook. The children enjoy Science themed visits, to places such as the Space Centre, and health visitors to the school, such as a local dentist and Specsavers.
