Our Communication and Interaction Base is excited to introduce our new sensory fish tank, which has already become a calm and engaging feature in the classroom. At the moment, we have six Neon Tetra fish swimming in the tank, and their bright colours glow beautifully in the water. We are hoping to gradually grow our little fish community in the future – watch this space!
The sensory tank will provide many benefits for our pupils. Observing the fish can help create a calming environment, support emotional regulation, and encourage mindfulness and quiet focus. It also gives pupils opportunities to practise communication and interaction skills, share observations, and learn about caring for living things. We are very excited to see how our new underwater world grows and how much joy it brings to the children. 🐠
Introducing our pets
Neon Tetras are small tropical fish known for their striking blue and red glowing stripes. They are peaceful fish that enjoy swimming together in groups, which makes them wonderful to observe. Watching the fish move gently through the water can be very relaxing.
