All children are encouraged to participate in a range of sports, sometimes as an individual, a pair, or as part of a team. Children are given the opportunity to represent their House team in school competitions and to represent the school in local competitions.
All children from Year 4 to Year 6 have swimming lessons with the aim of being able to swim 25m by the end of Key Stage 2.
Each year we hold a whole school Sports Day where children compete against each other in a range of track events. At lunchtimes children are encouraged to be physically active. A sports coach organises varied sporting activities, open to all pupils. All of our pupils have the opportunity to take part in after school sports clubs with Year 6 pupils having the opportunity to take part in a range of outdoor educational pursuits during their residential trip.
The school achieved Sports Mark Gold award in 2016.
