Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Following a meeting of the Council’s cabinet on Friday, the governors and I are delighted to inform you that the Local Authority has agreed to issue Thorpe Acre Junior School with a statutory notice to develop a new SEND (Special Educational Needs/Disabilities) unit for children with communication and interaction needs, namely autism. This unit is one of only three units to be added at primary level across the county, and the only one in Loughborough. There was strong competition for this prestigious development and we are delighted to have been successful and to be part of this exciting project.
For further information, please read the letter 'SEND Provision - April 2019'.
Thank you to all the children, parents and carers for their participation and generosity in Number Day, which raised a fantastic £62.75 for the NSPCC!
The children had great fun dressing up and taking part in fun maths activities. The biscuits made by the ladies in the kitchen were also enjoyed!
Mrs Moore and the children have been very busy over the past few weeks in designing and preparing this wonderful Remembrance display, to commemorate the centenary of the end of WWI.
We have received so many compliments, so if you would like to come and take a look when you drop off or collect your children, please come and take a look; it is situated just outside reception.
Well done Mrs Moore and children!
